How to Play Online Roulette

Roulette is one of the most popular and easy to play games at the casino.  Invented back in the 18th century, the game of roulette or “rulet” is named after a French diminutive for “little wheel”.

When you play the game online you are basically playing a “video roulette” version of the game, which follows the same basic rules and payouts.  Many top games sites such as Bet365 Games also have a exciting 3D version of the game.

The game of roulette revolves around a spinning wheel with has a series of numbered pockets on the circumference of the wheel.  The dealer or “croupier” spins the wheel and than spins the ball in the opposite direction of the wheel.  After bouncing and hopping about, the roulette will start to lose momentum and will eventually land in one of the numbered pockets.

As roulette players, your aim is to wager money on which number, set of numbers, or colour the roulette ball will finally stop on.  According to the payouts at the casino and how much money you wagered in a single turn, you can win a good amount of money if you apply sensible bankroll management skills.

The roulette wheel contains 37 numbers for European/French Roulette and 38 for US roulette. In addition to the green marked 0, American roulette also has a green 00 – giving it the extra number on the wheel.

From the numbers 1 -10 and 19 – 28, odds numbers are red and even numbers are black. From the numbers 11 – 18 and 29 – 36, the colours are the other way around.
